6-4-3 DP Cougars (13U) edge East Cobb Astros in USSSA TravelBallSelect Super Regional (GA) Championship Game

This past Saturday, the 6-4-3 DP Cougars (13U) started the day out with a come-from-behind victory against the very tough North Gwinnett Bulldogs (score 12-7) and advanced to play the Central Florida Gators in the semifinal game.  With excellent pitching and defense, the Cougars held the Gators to only two runs.  The Cougars hot bats continued and provided four runs to fuel a victory and advance the team into the championship game.

In the championship game against the talented East Cobb Astros, the Cougars jumped out early in the first inning to a four run lead.  Over the remaining innings, the Cougars kept pressure on the Astros’ pitching to win the game by a final score of 8-5.  In dramatic fashion in the bottom of last inning with bases loaded, the Cougars closed out the game with an outstanding 6-4-3 double play!  With the win, the 6-4-3 DP Cougars (13U) earned an invitation to the National USSSA TBS Championship in Dallas, Texas, later this summer.  Congratulations to the 13U Cougars on a fine tournament performance.
