Congratulations to head coach Matt Hightower and the 643 DP Tigers (14U) for winning the Perfect Game East Cobb Invitational Tournament last weekend in Emerson, Georgia. Forty-eight teams participated in the event and the 14U Tigers were able to claim the title with a limited roster and great team play. Davis Sharpe earned Perfect Game Most Valuable Pitcher honors for his tournament wins against the Home Plate Chilidogs and Titans Baseball Academy while tallying a 0.875 ERA. Sharpe pitched 8 innings in those two games and gave up only one earned run while tallying ten strike outs. Guillermo Grainer, Nolan Tressler and Griffin Zito were all selected to the All-Tournament Team for hitting. Davis Sharpe and Nolan Tressler were selected to the All-Tournament Team for pitching. Caleb Barterlero was stellar behind the plate throughout the tournament. Branson Bowling, Michael Guldberg and Bannon Bembenek had timely hits that propelled the team through pool and bracket play. Stevie Szucs shut down the Central Florida Gators in a decisive pool play game. Zach Ottinger pitched a one hit shutout in the Championship game over the Upstate Mavericks from South Carolina. The weekend was a great overall team effort by the 14U Tigers. Congratulations again to the 14U Tigers for their stellar performance in the Perfect Game East Cobb Invitational Tournament.
